Default OT: The REAL problem

It is worth mentioning that this is a great game and really nicely balanced. I think it is incredible value for the money, that is a rich playing experience, and that it is more stimulating than every other game on the market. I believe it offers strategic depth which is unheard of in computer gaming and that people should dig deeper into that depth before asking for the game to be fixed. It is not broken or even cracked, this game is sound and solid.

The only thing that needs fixing is the fact that there are only 24 hours in a day, which does not leave enough time to play Dom II.

Bah! Even if a miracle happens, and every day suddenly comes to 48 hours, there STILL wouldn't be enough time - you see, society would quickly come to expect a 48 hour day, and increase the time needed on everything else proportionally - you'd find yourself needing to sleep twice as much, eat twice as often, and bathe twice as often; society would then, of course, require you to work twice as long (a 16 hour STANDARD shift - don't even think about how long an overtime or double shift would be!!). To top it all off, it would only double how long you have to play DomII PER DAY - but the timers for turning turns in are based on hours. You'd need another patch, and the devs have enough on their plate as it is.

Now, if we could somehow get a deal so that the ONLY people with 48 hours in the day were on this forum....

I suggest you take up living underground. When you live underground, rarely emerging to see the light of day, concepts like "24 hours" in a "day" are foreign: There is only eternal darkness. This is a good thing: Sunlight is painful and burns.

It also doesn't hurt if you develop, and learn to enjoy, chronic insomnia and caffeine addiction. Like me.

It is the Dominions support systems that really take up the time. Fueling the body takes precious minutes away from the screen and purchasing the fuel costs money. One must work to get the money for the fuel, as well as the electricity which runs the computer and the rent that the landlord so ungraciously demands. This work takes hours each day and the commute is even worse.

If one of you would like to alleviate this needless suffering, by donating funds, I would be deeply grateful and promise a fresh AAR report every day. Just think of the good you would be doing the world with your donation…

I always wished I had some kind of temporal stasis bubble that I could hop into, play video games for a while, and then when I hopped out, it would be the same time as when I went in.

That would be great until your wife and friends start noticing how much faster you are aging than them.

"Wow honey... I swore you didn't have any grey hair this morning..."
