windows xp

hey all.

just wondering if anyone else run into this problem and know how to fix it. i just got dominions 2, installed it fine but when i try to run it it just crashes. running task manager says that sql application not responding. there is a sound as if a error message should had poped up but it doesnt. and if i press escape it brings me back to windows.... any ideas?
i'm running windows xp home ed. on a athlon 2000xp, geforce 3 ti 500, soundbLaster audigy.

Check the file stderr.txt in your game directory. It might have some information on what the problem is.

its empty nothing in it.

1) Use MSConfig to clean out anything else starting in the background

2) Disable any anti-virus during the install of any software

3) Make certain to install the most recent update for Dominions

4) If problems continue uninstall and reinstall into a different directory.

5) Get the most recent drivers for sound and graphics card.

I sometimes have a similar problem. Dominions doesn't come up if my second monitor is disabled. Enabling it solves the problem.
