Updating The Starwolf and Pandoran DONE
I am in the process of updating the Starwolf set.
I hope to have it completed soon so I can start in on the Pandoran set.
The update consits of new high quality renderings with updated textures.
Compare the old to the new. Old Starwold Link

Re: Updating The Starwolf
Hmmm I like them but at the same time I don't. For some reason the new ones look more catoonish while the old ones had that military feel and they looked like a ship you did not want to meet in space.
But nevertheless fine work, AT!

Re: Updating The Starwolf
Its the new metalic texture. Its reflection coupled with the new glow effects give it that cartoonish look. I did a lot of thinking before I opted to go with the new texture. When I compared the images at a higher resolution, the new texture simply looked more real.
DOGA does not allow for a lot of tweaking when it comes to the Textures. I could import the models into another program, but that would require a lot of extra work and I am far to lazy to do that.

Re: Updating The Starwolf
Ugh; Don't go with the metallic format; It makes your starships look as if they've had a wax job done. Go with Rough instead; IMHO, they seem more realistic.
Edit: Nevertheless, nice ships; I wish I could make shipsets as well as you do

Re: Updating The Starwolf
I like them better than the original, But i agree maybe a better texture could be used. Either way they're still pretty good

Re: Updating The Starwolf
Crap guys, I just finished the set and do you know how long it took me to update them? 12 hours. I tried the other settings and they all looked about the same. I changed to a differant texture and it just didn't look good. In fact I tried several new textures as the old one really looked ugly. After months of off and on again testing I opted for this finish. When I render them at high resolution they look *****en. Whem I compare the different textures at lower resolution this one still kicks the crap out of them.
Besides, the mini's just look wicked IMHO.
Take a look for yourselves. The Starwolf v1.8

Re: Updating The Starwolf
I could redo the Portraits with a rough finish. Let me try that real quick.

Re: Updating The Starwolf
Hey don't go out of our way just to add a different texture.
I certainly prefer this one to the older Version, there was something i wasn't sure about on the old starwolf ships.
As for the ships themselves they are great, this new texture shows the models much better. Personally I'm not used to the Clean look your ships are taking, All your old shipsets always had patterned textures and such.

Which do you guys like better? Post 1's images or these one? I can redo the portrait in about hour so be honest as to which ones that all of you like.
