questions about poison
How does poison work? If a unit gets poisoned does he take variable damage every turn until the poison is gone or is it a fixed amount of damage?
Is the save throw against the initial attack of poison or every turn the unit is poisoned?
Are multiple instances of poison possible from the same source? i.e. my Pan casts breath of the dragon against the same units twice.
If I cast foul vapors then breath of the dragon does the unit get poisoned twice?

Re: questions about poison
There is no saving throw against poison, if you get hit by a posioned weapon or spell you'll get poisoned. You'll get twice as poisoned by two hits as well. The victim takes a small amount of damage each turn until all poison is gone from him.

Re: questions about poison
When a unit is poisoned it is given a total poison score. This score is the total damage dealt by the poison. Each turn a tenth of this score is dealt as damage to the victim. The poison score lowers by the same amount. When all the damage is dealt the poisoning is over.
There is no save. Poison resistant creatures take less or no damage from the poison depending on resistance level.
If a unit is empoisoned again the poison scores are added. A tenth is still taken as damage each turn.

Re: questions about poison
Thanks for the answers.
I went back and read through all the descriptions for the poison spells. Not one of them lists damage. What is the damage from the various spells?
If a unit is poisoned in turn 1 of combat and combat ends at turn 6 do the poisoned units still take 4 more turns of damage?

Re: questions about poison
When battle ends all remaining poison dmg is dealt to survivers.
Sulphur Haze 2
Breath of the Dragon 1+(lvl*2)
Poison Cloud 3
Poison Touch 5+(5*lvl)
All armor negating.
Foul Vapors might do (Ob)d5. Not sure as it is dealt somwhere else in the code.

Re: questions about poison
So if some units is poisoned for 10 damage, after five turns it has suffered 5 damage and has 5 total poison damage left to take, and then gets poisoned for another 5 its up to 10 again and it will take 10 more turns to get all the poison out (each one inflicted 1 damage)?

So, if a Pan dryad(1N) with a thistle mace(+1N) has 2N, would lvl=2 ?
So, the poison damage would be 1+(2*2) = 5?

Re: questions about poison
I had a commander with 75% resistance to poison... yet I didn't notice any less damage being taken from poison nor a decreased chance of getting posioned.

Re: questions about poison
Jeffr: Yes. But it would be a random value. 2d6(oe)+5 vs 2d6(oe)+prot(0)
NTJedi: The result of the damage roll is multiplied by 0.75 so the resulting dmg of a 8 point empoisoning is 2.
