Half-Sacred
So... appearantly Broken Empire Ermor's mages are half sacred: they get reduced upkeep but cannot be blessed. Now, why is there no icon for this? I mean, it would be usefull to know if, say, any of their troops were also half-sacred... I guess because of this, BE isn't as lousy as I thought; their mages are so expensive that halved upkeep makes a big difference. I guess that's why I still have so much money in King of the Hill. Anybody know of any other half-sacred troops or mages?

Re: Half-Sacred
AFAIK, there are two kinds of sacred: holy and unholy. The holy spell Bless helps the one, the various unholy (Wrath of Gaia, Unholy Blessing, Royal Blessing) ones help the other. If BE priests are unblessable either way then that would be a third type, and I haven't actually cross-checked the unholy types.
I just did some research. No Emorian (any theme) priest is sacred. Wailing Ladies, yep, KotUS, yeah, but no priests. That the BE ones have half maintenance cost suggests they are all supposed to be and that this is a bug.

Re: Half-Sacred
They're not sacred, but they are priests. Maybe all units with holy or unholy levels count as sacred for determining upkeep, whether or not they are blessable.

Re: Half-Sacred
Why don't pretenders have priestly abilities? It seems that priests' abilities flow from the god they serve, so logically, the pretender god should have the same abilities as priests. If the pretender didn't have these abilities, then how could the pretender bestow them upon his/her priests?

Re: Half-Sacred
Well, the priestly abilities could stem from the priests faith in his god. Obviously a god can't worship himself. Well, maybe an overly egotistical god or something...

Re: Half-Sacred
LOL. A narcissistic god!
Yeah, I sort of thought along the faith based lines, but shouldn't a god have faith in him/herself?

Re: Half-Sacred
They don't. Why else would they be so adamant about 'There can be only One'.
