Default Idea for the digital Raidos

At the moment many armies are in the process of, or have updated to modem digital communications systems, such as BOWMAN for Holland, Romania and the UK.

Now alot of what this fancy high tech gear does is not representable in game, and should come under a high raido code.

However some ideas crept into my mind, One may not be useable, as might/would require a code change. However the other one could be done. I know they're not Brilliant ways of representing Digital raido systems, but I'm just trying to fit the ideas into the game system.

Just bear with me on this.

Suppression is in part the representation of troops keeping their heads down due to enemy effect and the lack of commanders. Now a Major yelling in your ear to stop being a Wuss and return fire is probably going to help reduce suppression, and such at the moment it does. So a far better coms system means you're more likely to know that support is on it's way or get orders to do as your told.

Idea's for Advanced Digital comms.

1.
Have a Special Raido Code, like a X4 in the Raido field that alows the units a rallying bonus. This would require a game code change, and possibly a MOBhack code change and so is probably the worst choice of the lot.

2.
Give Units with digital Raido's a small bonus in their morale tab in MOBhack. The easiest to do.

3.
Give the nation a Morale boost, From the basic nation morale ratings. That is if the numbers can vary from year to year.

Or if you saw the news reports about the sets being used by British forces in Iraq recently being far heavier and less reliable than the sets they replaced we could give them a morale penalty instead...

Better Off With Map And Nokia (BOWMAN) does work despite what the press has been saying (Oh my god, jounro's telling porkies? Never!).

(Nicked wholesale from another site):
Bowman in a nutshell:

1. Secure is a success. It is performing very well on operations, and consistently delivers better QoS over greater ranges than Clansman, which is a far inferior system in every way.

2. Data is utter bonk and will be for some time. Work is ongoing to improve the data service, as a technical solution already exists - but that's only half the story.

In sum, don't believe what you hear - it's actually going very well.

Only pulling your leg mate...

Anything new always gets racked by the press and nothing ever works perfectly straight away.

I get what you're saying though: as good C&C improves efficiency in fighting, the level to which it's being developed these days probably gives forces that use digital systems a sizable advantage in that units can know what is going on around them a lot more accurately and could be modelled easily in the game by using a mobhack modifier boost in morale. Only problem is you would need to replicate all units using the system at the point of introduction so you have the pre digital and with digital units as time progresses.

It's not that difficut. It's jsut a bit of cut and pasteing... I'll do it if MOBhack is to busy.
