How to lay mines during the battle
I bought Engineering's with
anti-tank mines. Now I trued to get them to lay the mines in the ground. I could not find explanation of that from the "manual" of WinSPMBT or SPWW2. It certainly works differently than in SPWAW but how?
How to do that in real situation, that I'll certainly know. On 1954/55 I was an engineer in the Finnish army. Anti-tank mines were f....g heavy (we used the Finnish word "vitun raskaita") and we loved to put them down as soon as possible!

Re: How to lay mines during the battle
Why not just check out the "Engineers laying mines" thread in the TO&E sub forum - it is one of the "sticky" threads.
Short answer - no minelaying in the game, bar arty mines.
This gamne is not SPWAW..
Cheers

"Short answer - no minelaying in the game, bar arty mines."
Now my poor engineers have to carry 4 mines in their small hands to the end of the game! Becouse they are Syrians I can not tell you what they think and say of their commander.
What I will say to the designers of this game: Is there any sense to let one silly person (like me) to buy engineers with anti-tank mines unstead of bying engineers with a usefull armament set available?
In the meeting engagement I recently play (my first WinSPMBT battle) I command Syrians agains Israelians. Becouse my troops are technically inferior I imagined first going fast forward, surrounding some strategic placies with mines and then withdrawing to a safer line. In a real war I'll do just that. Why is it not possible?

Re: How to lay mines during the battle
There are certain "abstractions" in the game. The game is based on 50 metre hexes. It takes longer than the game runs to properly mine a 50 x 50 metre area. The "anti tank" mines some of the engineers carry are an abstraction. They could be mines like the WW2 magnetic mines that were designed to be placed manually on the hull of a tank ( fun job that would be....) or simply thrown on the tank or placed under the treads up close and personal. No, it's no exactly the way things are done but both sides have the same limitaions so it's at least fair
