Hello and question!
Hello to everyone! I'm a new user.
Before all, sorry for my bad english.
I'm a great fan of the Leopard2 tank (especially the 2A6) and I've noticed that it don't have any HE round in it's loadout...I've looked on the Rheinmetall's site and found that this round is actually in use, but in the game the West Germany tanks don't have it.
Doese the German use HE rounds in the leopards?
If not, and the game loadout is correct, someone can give me any advice about how to deal with infantry and ATGM's?
Thanks for the help!

Re: Hello and question!
Leopard 2 and M1A1 used multipurpose HEAT rounds, they were not as good as a normal HE round but against Atgm teams should be enough (teoretically). Today Leopard 2A6 use german made HE round and Abrams use their multipurpose HEAT (M830,M830A1) rounds. M830 are not so effective as german HE,but they are quite effective against armor.BEst way to simulate it is give M1A1 half of its HEAT loadout HE(10) and half HEAT(10).Leo2A6 should have full loadout (12) HE.

Re: Hello and question!
Thanks! I feel better ^__^
So I will remove the HEAT rounds from the leopard and change them with HE... very well.
Oh, another thing, this time about APFSDS ammunition.
The 2005 leopard 2A6 is assumed to use DM 53 (LKE II) sabot rounds or the older DM 43 round? This because the 120/55mm gun APCR penetration is 90 (WG01 gun), while the M1A2 SEP APCR penetration is 95.
If I'm not wrong, the LKE II round can penetrate up to 810mm of RHA at 2000m while the Abrams M829A2 round have an estimated penetration of about 750mm of RHA at 2000m...
Umh, maybe the Abrams round is the future M829E3?

Re: Hello and question!
M829A3 is avaiable from 2003, so it looks like "03" gun is M829A3(M829A1- 91,M829A2-94,M829A3-03)

Re: Hello and question!
The Leo 2a6 in the German OOB has HE rounds available starting 2009 which is I guess a bit late but that was the info we had at the time it was put in. Most of the other nations using the 2a5 and 2a6 all appear to have HE earlier than the Germans in the OOB. I'll keep this in mind to check when we finish work on winspww2

Traditionally, infantry and artillery fill that role. Having Marders around to suppress points of resistance with their 20mm also helps

Re: Hello and question!
For now, one of the best solution I've found is to use a pair of PAH-2 Tiger attack helicopeters to find the ATGM teams and then destroy them with the onboard rockets and artillery...

Re: Hello and question!
I´ve been waiting also for a clearance for the Leo HE loadout. As is said in the manuals tactic guide, an MBT without HE is useless.. I second that especially in assault missions, where it would be nice to use the accuracy and firepower of the main gun against especially long-range ATGM. They´re truly a pain in the butt! Now MBT main guns become a pain in theirs..
