Apilas and other AT teams
Why they have so unrealistic amount of ammo? Like two men Apilas Team with 4 HE and 8 HEAT, gimme a break?
Even those men would be world class bodybuilders thats not just right. Hope this will be fixed in next patch.

Re: Apilas and other AT teams
You are so right. I figure two men to be capable of carrying 4 Apilas + personal weapons and gear under combat situations. Maximum.
One tube weighs 10 kilos and is quite difficult to carry with other gear, when manouvering and surely makes life hell when somebody is shooting at you..

Re: Apilas and other AT teams
What OOB are you looking at? I went through the French one thinking that was what you're talking about, and can't find at all what you're talking about. It also seems that most Inf-AT teams with larger weapons (Milan, Dragon, etc) have realistic loadouts, around 3-5.

Re: Apilas and other AT teams
Should be Finland, nearly the only other Apilas user, and there have already been complaints about this problem in this very OOB.
Just checked Italy, found none (shouldn't there be some?), so checked Taiwan (shouldn't be there AFAIK ) and found teams had 6 rounds for 2 guys which is heavy but more reasonable already.
Still speed 6 though, these guys have good legs!
BTW, I noticed the Finns had HE Apilas? I never heard there was a HE version designed, any info about that, anyone?

Re: Apilas and other AT teams
Now you understand why we don't farm OOB work out anymore.
If this is a huge issue for anyone we provide MOBHack for the purpose of editing problems like this. Otherwise just live with it, it's not the end of the world. I've added this complaint to my complaint list and it will be dealt with when we issue the next MBT version

Re: Apilas and other AT teams
The code does not allow dual-purpose HEAT used as HE round, only HEAt as an AP round so some OOB designers allowed a few HE rounds as HEAT-as-HE. Same goes e.g. for bazookas and say panzerfaust.
Cheers

The loadout may be realistic but the number of men assigned to carry the equipment is not. In most team there are only 2 men. For example: US army javelin teams: 2 men, 4 missiles. Over 20kg each + the command launch unit. US army tow2 teams: 2 men, 4 missiles. Over 20kg/missile and the launcher is a +100kg(?!?) monster. Russian kornet teams: 3 men, 6 missiles, 29kg/missile and the launcher 36kg. Most anti tank guided missile teams are ridiculously undermanned.
I know this is a minor thing. I hope and know it will be fixed in the next patch. And not only the Finnish apilas team but pretty much every atgm and at teams.

Alright, thanks for the explanation, Andy!
BTW, would it be possible, as far as things go now, to give sufficient penetration to a HE round an use it as AP (i.e. against AFVs), or is the type of roud used linked to the type of target, that is, the unit class?
I mean, if I give an AT team a class 2 or 3 weapon with an HE pen of 40 and HE kill of 7 and no AP or HEAT figures, will it be used against armored vehicles?
I know that HE penetration wouldn't depict HEAT rounds quite well, but it might possibly be useful.

Plasma

Problem with this is (if it isn't anymore in the new version, please correct me someone) that the HE AP value means not only how many centimeters of the KE armour the shot would penetrate, but also sort of splash damage to other vehicles in the hex, thus with the weapon you've described it would be possible to blow up several vehicles at once.
Atlest so it was when I checked that the last time, which is, to be true, a bit long ago (SPMBT ver. 2?).
Regards
Tuccy

Re: Apilas and other AT teams
Yes - this has been known since SP2 days, when I tried editing the HE pen of UK tank rounds to represent HESH by giving a decent HE-pen figure to the HE round. Worked as required, but has the side effect of destroying multiple BMPs etc parked in the same target hex.
Cheers
