Help! I' having problems with the Demo!

Ever since the demo came out I've been trying to get it to run on my Mac (OSX 10.2.8) and it won't even start up! I asked customer service and they didn't know what was the matter. Has any other Mac users had this problem? Anyone know any solutions?

Hi Patrick - I'm Patrik

I also run a mac. The problem might be that you need SDL libraries... (KO or JK may want to confirm this) It may have been left out of the demo to avoid size issues. But it is easy to download and free - just do a google search and you should find it.

If it's not that, then I'm not sure - perhaps you could post more details about your setup.

SDL should be included in the demo, so no need to install that one. But who knows, maybe I screwed it up somehow.

Open your terminal and start Dominions3 with this command line and tell me what it says:

Dominions3.app/Contents/MacOS/Dominions3 -dd

I did get a new version of SDL just in case, no change.

Johan when I type the command I get bash-2.05a$ (assuming I'm doing this right).

I don't think I have any exotic stuff on my system, it is an iMa, 700mHz G4, with 640 MB Ram.

I am having the same problem with the same operating system and this is what i got when I entered the command above

[213-67-203-181-no11:~] ingajoha% Dominions3.app/Contents/MacOS/Dominions3 -dd
Dominions3.app/Contents/MacOS/Dominions3: Command not found.

You have to change directory to wherever dominions is located first.

e.g. cd ~/Desktop

..if you put it on your desktop

well since Patrik has posted now I guess I will try the fix he needed first before i try anything else thanks anyway

pdonley has already tested installing SDL, but that didn't help and it shouldn't be required to do that either. Remeber, the terminal is your friend. Now put Dominions3.app on your desktop and write these commands in your terminal!!!

cd ~/Desktop
Dominions3.app/Contents/MacOS/Dominions3 -dd

Ok Johan,

I did as you said in the last post, a new window opened with the title "Dominons3.app/Contents/MacOS/Dominions3-dd" with the same bash-2.05a$ prompt.

Sorry, Terminal noob.

Ok, I don't get why it should do that. BTW, are you using powerpc or intel machines?
