Help Me Gurus -- How do I Change the Battle Music
I want to change the battle music to something more upbeat -- maybe the theme from Monday Night Football. I found the "Raw Sound" folder and assume that one of the files in there is the battle music file, but I do not know what to do next. What I think is the specific problem is:
All the files in the Raw Sound folder are .al or .smp files. I am unfamiliar with these extensions and cannot get them to play with the typical players (Windows Media Player and RealPlayer). I tried changing the .al and .smp extensions to .wav and .midi, but without success in playing them.
Anyone have any ideas on how I can take my .mp3, midi, and .wav files and get them to play as the battle music?

Re: Help Me Gurus -- How do I Change the Battle Mu
The music is in the format of .al which doesnt seem to have any downloadable programs for converting music into that format. Im not going to pay $400 for the only official program Ive found for it.

Do you know of a free program that will at least let me play the .al files? If I could do that, at least I could identify the battle music file.

At least early age battle music file is called fikon2.al, dont know about other ages because I havent got my full version yet /cry.
Those are A-Law compressed 22kHz mono sound files.

Customizing music would be nice though. I could create an soundtrack from In Flames songs...

Haven't messed with it for awhile, but I have an old version of Audacity that could import raw sound data. You have to fiddle with the various import/export options, but it is possible. Easier for me just to turn off music in game and let media player play in the background.

MUSIC CHANGED -- WOOT!
I used a free program called Smart Audio Converter http://www.smartaudioconverter.com to convert my MP3s to RAW (A-Law) files. I set the sample rate at 22050 HZ (there are other options on the converted). It sounded absolutely awful, but it was definitely changed to the mp3 file I converted.
The Fikon files appear to be the battle music files. I cannot confirm which is which since I changed them all.
Now the trick is to find some usuable .al files or play around with the conversion settings so the new battle music sounds better.
