Game Crash
I haven't read anything too significant about game crashes, but about halfway through my first game I have a repeatable crash just after it gets done with the "AI thinking" step of the turn generation. Is this the forum to post the turn in to see if anybody has any ideas?
Any specific things that might be going on that cause crashes that I could turn off? I'm running around as EA Tien Chi on the Cradle of Dominions map.
Thanks for any input:

Re: Game Crash
The only crashes I can think of ATM are related to spesific globals.
If you use -ddd command line parameter with Dominions (in Windows, change the properties of the shortcut you use) to get a log file that should contain some more information. The log file will be created at your main Dominions 3 folder, and it's named log.txt or something just as clear.
Also, please keep a copy your save game directory somewhere safe in the case this is an unreported bug with no clear cause.

Re: Game Crash
I had the game crash once or twice during hosting. That was with large SP games (like, 100+ turns into the game, with large random maps), and I tend to play in windowed mode and switch apps while hosting.

Re: Game Crash
I had crashes during battle replays when I used the -dd switch... The game restarted and played correctly thereafter, so it looks like something "overflowed".
But absolutely no crashes during turn hosting. One can be rumbling about the (many small) game bugs, but the engine is rock-solid !

Re: Game Crash
OK, thanks for the -ddd switch. Apparently casting Fata Morgana was the cause of the crash, as when I swapped that mage to doing something else the game would host. Attached are the files if anybody is interested in checking out what was happening.

PS: And apparently you can't upload .trn files on this messageboard. Any tips or tricks to get it to the right folks would be appreciated.

Re: Game Crash
Zip them up.
And Fata Morgana is known for crashing the game ...

Re: Game Crash
Ok, my mistake - guess I missed the known Fata bug. Glad to see it's being fixed.

Thanks for the assistance!
