Default Terrain Types & Magic Sites

3 Questions that affect my magic site search priorities:

1) I read in the manual that several terrain types (e.g. mountain, swamp, forest & waste) have an increased chance of having a magic site, if there are 2 such types for a single province, are the increased chances in any sense cumulative?

2) Similarly there does the farm malus cancel the forest (or mtn, waste, etc) bonus for magic sites?

3) In turn tips speeding buy I remember seeing things like forests are more likely to have sites w/ nature gem income. Is there any reference out there that shows odds of sites (ideally including a breakdown of site types) for each terrain type?

TIA,

Terrel

To answer your questions:

1) No. They are not cumulative. Best modifier is used.

2) See 1)

3) The Dominions 2 site list available from Arryn's site or Sunray's site gives information on terrain types, rarity and whether or not a site is unique. A similar DB for Dom3 is under construction, but is currently lacking a crucial bit of info regarding the terrains due to the vagueness of the mod manual on the site terrain masks.

Also note that thre are also some "hidden" terrain types that have an effect on the province.

The random map generator use them : when you see on a province something unusual, like a volcano for exemple, it means that there's one of thos terrain types.

The volcano for exemple is for "firesite", wich I suppose must increase the chance of fire site (and probably the global chance of a site)

The small temple must be the type "priestsite"

etc ...

There are one such type for each magic path.

If you want to know what special terrain type are on the provinces in a random map, you can use my online map validator at http://dominions.realites.org/

Just uncheck the "randomize" and "greater manysites" options (as you don't want to change the map, only to analyse it), and in the map resutls you will have added to eachprovince in comments the list of all its terrain types, including the hidden ones.
