Getting Dominions on XFire

On a lark, I installed XFire on my system a few months ago, just to see which games I play most. Space Empires is now on the system, as are most of the other games I play. Does Shrapnel allow its products to be listed on XFire?

I cant see why not?
you should send an email to the xfire team requesting Dom3 to be added to the supportet games list.

Due to the more long-term nature of dominions games, it wouldnt seem to me that something like XFire would be too useful for it? Perhaps it might be ok for setting up some blitzes?

xfire is not for setting up games, though you can do that too.
Its for chatting while you're ingame etc.

Chatting ingame is great. Especially for blitzes. It gets around the two-turn to send a message thing that Dominions has in it.

We have discussed teamspeak, skype, and ventrilo for voice chatting.

For typed chats Id rather stick with the IRC channels we have now. Such as <a href="irc://irc.gamesurge.net/#dominions" target="_blank">irc://irc.gamesurge.net/#dominions</a> which works for many people without having to download something new. Its an old standard internet thing.

If the next upgrade of this software includes a chat feature then we might switch to that.

Voice chat in multiplayer games is great. It's amazing the friends you can make when you play too many video games. The only thing I'd have against voice chat for dominions is the fact that the average player seems to be quite smarter than me. I don't wanna seem like the backwood Ohio country boy I am!
This morning in the IRC channel I jumped in to get help with a pretender I was working on and there was some full on WW2 discussion going on!
