Default Is it okay...

... to use game concepts like Sauromancers and Serpent Cult dancers on this site: http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Paludia...ign_Setting%29

I haven't actually used anything from dominions III on this site, so it's ok if you say no.

That would be up to Kristoffer at Illwinter.com
But since over 90% of Dominions is based on research into real mythologies then Id guess it would be ok.

You might take a look at the interesting thread on using a running Dominions game as a fluid everchanging DnD campaign world.

Of course it is OK

I don't mind people reading about mythology or history, regardless of if it comes from this world or my mind

If you feel like it you can leave a note about it.

Also:
-Eleionomae, nymphs of the marsh.

Do they look like female crocodiles and and seduce lizards or do they appear as human females?

That's a good question... I suppose I'll have to decide... or else make it a shape-shifter.

Perversely enough, I could see a crocodyle-headed nymph seducing lizard men, it's something about those crocodyle-eyes...If you're not running away from them, you just have to stare.

Well, if a nymph can seduce a lizard shaman...

Perhaps I will make a mod out of the d&d page of mine someday... (with care NOT to violate copyright protection, that is...)

You won't have to worry about copyright protection issues unless you are earning money from the work. For example you could use ideas and pictures from your favorite games to create your MOD and/or MAP. You could not use ideas and pictures from your favorite games if some company or individuals offered you money for the work.

That doesn't sound right NTJedi. I think it's illegal to copy protected work no matter what you do with it. It's obviously more serious if you sell it though.

That comes up often. Just to speed this up, a back and forth conversation usually brings it down to both people being abit correct. "you wont have to worry" usually refers to "they wont come after you" unless you make money on it. And yes, it is illegal to use part of someone elses works in your own wether you make money or not.

ByTheWay, the "you dont have to worry" isnt always true either. Its based on the idea that there is nothing to sue for but I have seen actions taken against people for reasons other than money.

In any case, an important factor HERE is that if you use another game as part of a map or mod then you need permission from the original company or it cannot be posted or linked to on forums owned by Shrapnel. We have had some. And they did ask. You might be surprised to find that we are now slightly over 50% on them getting permission.
