Hi, I've still been working on my own OOB projects and have come across some things I feel might deserve some attention, maybe just to bring the reality to my attention heh (that's happened more than once).
OOB 13 (USMC):
Unit 118 (AH-1J Sea Cobra) , 120 (AH-1T Sea Cobra): These units appear to be modeled to have the M28 turret system. With the exception of AH-1Gs loaned by the Army (which I see you've added
), no USMC Cobra's have had the M28 turret. All were fitted with some variation of the GE Universal Turret fitted with the M197 20mm cannon. Of course, the M18/SUU-11/A Minigun pod was a common fit to USMC AH-1s, so having a minigun in the weapons isn't unrealistic, but all should have the M197 gun and none should have a 40mm grenade launcher.
Unit 128, F9F Cougar: F9F-5 Cougar had two under wing pylons for bombs, but was never armed with HVARs.
Units 620, 621, 916, and 917: There appears to be in issue here. Not sure whether one is supposed to be a class 44 and the others 223, but as it stands now 620/621 and 916/917 are duplicate pairs with the exception of the icon.
Helicopter history: This is a comment I've made before, and as it stands now not so much an error report. I can provide more information (and I'm sure so can others), but it is possible to remove (or more likely X3 for the sake of any existing scenarios and other things) all US Army and USAF helicopters without changing or limiting the functionality of the USMC OOB. There are other things, but I will wait to see whether or not it is decided that such a change would be worthwhile to suggest them.
Semantics: Units 250 and 253 are listed as "OV-10E." The OV-10B, C, E, and F were all designations applied to OV-10s specifically for export. The United States military only used the OV-10A (USMC, USN, USAF) and OV-10D (USMC). Suggest simple renaming of 250 to OV-10A and 253 to OV-10D.
OOB 15 (Australia):
Canberra bombs: In the OOB currently, there are two Canberra Mk 20s, Units 404 and 422. Both are armed with 750 lbs bombs. These loads are only accurate for September 1968 onward. Prior to this, Australian Canberras used standard loads of either 8 1,000 lb bombs or 9 500 lb bombs. A shortage of 1,000 lb bombs in August 1968 and the deployment of forward units to the SEA theatre led to the shift to US supplied 750 lb M117s that were already in service on US B-57s.
Unit 455, UH-1 Bushranger: Total nitpick, but at least from the pictures I've seen the UH-1H Bushrangers used standard 2.75" FFARs until their retirement, not 68mm SNEB rockets.
SASR before 1980: Again, not so much an error report, but something that I'm curious about. I'm not sure about the Commando formations either, but I suspect they too were in existence prior to their start dates in the OOB.
If I find anything else I'm curious about or feel to be in error I'll add it to this post. I might be wrong about things or unaware of a conscious decision to make things that I might consider wrong, so don't hesitate to just say so.
