Tip test
I'm testing the prefix function by giving you a tip. The tip is that you are now able to add a prefix to your thread.
Other prefixes are tutorial, bug, guide, FAQ and wishlist. I suspect the guide prefix is the most useful, since most of the others are condensed into a few large threads. Might be good to know how to find these though.

Re: Tip test
That's cool! I was going to click on the "Thanks" button, but unfortunately you can't edit a prefix into an existing post, so we can't tag the old guides. So thanks for nothing!

Here was the announcement I made in Shrapnel General:
I've added Thread Prefixes for forums and subforums. When you create a thread you can now add a prefix to the thread which will display similar to how stickies are displayed. Based on feedback from moderators the prefixes you can choose are as follows:
In main forums:
FAQ
Wishlist
Bug
Tutorial
Tip
Guide
In subforums:
Map
Mod
Scenario
MP
Utility
AAR
Please use the appropriate prefixes in the appropriate forums only. You *should* be able to go back and edit in these prefixes into existing threads as well if you so desire.
-------------------------------------------------
So sector24, you have went to a thread that you own the original post for and cannot add a prefix to the title? If so, please give me a link to the one you are trying to do so I can try something. If ultimately regular users cannot get this to work on past threads, I'm sure the mods would be happy to help.

Re: Tip test
Yes, I tried it on the Magic Path Booster Guide in my signature. I pressed "Edit", then on the next screen I pressed "Go Advanced". I thought the prefix would be in front of the title like it is if you create a new post, but I didn't see it anywhere on the page. I just see the "Reason for Editing" and below that "Title" and then the text body with all the bells and whistles.

Re: Tip test
Okay I went in as a normal user and I can see it is indeed missing. I'll have to see if this is something that Richard can code in. Until then, I have updated the two threads in your signature.

This is fixed now. Everyone should be able to update their thread prefixes themselves.

Re: Tip test
Mindi-Could we get the prefix "nation mod" to separate new nations from mods of other types?

Re: Tip test
I just went through and updated all of my uploads with (I hope) the appropriate prefixes. Nifty tool.
A note to all of you map authors:
If you have a map floating out there in the deepest, darkest recesses of the forums and would like to eventually see a section for it added to the map list, then please add the "Map" prefix to it. I intend to give the list a major update in the near future and it would make life much easier if this great tool were utilized. Of course with the ability to search by prefix the map lists usefulness will be diminished considerably, but it will still show preview images where available and give another avenue for new users to locate some of the great maps available.

Re: Tip test
I'm not sure but did you lovely people just fix the modders, AAR and nation guides chief complaint about lack of ability to edit posts?! (In a way that allows others than the Original Poster way that is)
If so, Bravo, very well done what what! Make it a bit more clear what you've just achieved, If not, uhh what did you just achieve there?
