Kradshutzen sound bug
Unit 952 of the German oob is Kradschutzen SW.
In its second weapon slot it is armed with a 5cm Gw 36 mortar.
When this fires it makes a mg type sound rather than the mortar sound made by the other 5cm mortar equiped units.
Excuse the typo in the heading, not sure how to change it!

Re: Kradshutzen sound bug
Edit the sound byte to 0, instead of 117 which seems to be for MG42s. That should do the trick.
Cheers

Re: Kradshutzen sound bug
Hi Don,
This error has nothing to do with Cross Sounds, it existed way back. The British OOB has a similar error with some scouts.
Commando Scouts unit 523 weapon 1 is a sten but uses a rifle sound.
4 man Patrol (unit 178?) with weapon 1 as a sten also uses a rifle sound.

The reason "it existed way back" and still does is because NOBODY reported it until now that I'm aware of and that goes for the two British units so if you ( or anyone else )have any others you may know about do tell and we'll fix them.
OK?
For the record there is a grand total of 46901 units in SPWW2 and SPMBT combined that we have to ensure every last detail is correct so maybe it's possible a few things might not quite be 100%.
Add that to the 15599 formations in MBT alone and add to that the 19616 total weapons entries in both games and perhaps everyone can understand WHY occasionally odd errors slip though.

Re: Kradshutzen sound bug
Don,
I only pointed out it wasn't an error in Cross Sounds because I wanted to save you from having to wonder about that.
I have been aware of the kradschutzen and the scout error for a couple of months, and it was on my list to notify you guys. However, I felt it was a minor issue, I know you are busy, and I didn't want to catch the inevitable earful
BTW Don, what do you/did you do for living? School teacher? Cop? Traffic warden?
Love your Churchill quote on socialism. Reminds me of a US senators statement along the lines of:
There are signs in Florida telling you not to feed the alligators. Because if you feed them, they quickly forget how to feed themselves. Once that happens they have become completely dependent on you.
cheers

********Yes, it's a minor issue but those are the easiest to fix....Yes?
When a problem like this is found let us know and I'll put it on the list to look at in the fall. NOBODY gets an "earful" for reporting a legitimate problem like the wrong sound association ( unless, that is, they play the smartass about it but that's not the case here )

Re: Kradshutzen sound bug
Found one more:
Chinese unit 266
Armoured Truck/MG (amoured car class)
Weapon 2 is listed as Type 38 Rifle, but makes a MG sound

COMMUNIST Chinese unit 266 .
Interesting. It shouldn't be doing that.

Re: Kradshutzen sound bug
Yes, given the odds due to the scope of the game, it says an awful lot that only a few errors of any sort creep in. You guys certainly do an excellent job!
Love this game!!
