AI Sauromatia and Mother of Monsters
Hey all,
Is it a bad choice to set AI-controlled Sauromatia (or any nation for that matter) with the Mother of Monsters? Is it pretty much guaranteed to shoot itself in the foot with her poison cloud? Or will it intelligently place her away from other vulnerable units? (From what I've seen with hydras, the AI doesn't seem to be intelligent about poison cloud units...)

chances are, they won't even be smart enough to use her in combat. probably just leave her in the cap to research. but your right, they don't get poison cloud. they will most likely put her in the pack
|

Considering the rest of the AI level it might actually be a good move to not use their pretender in combat even if it is a combat pretender

Ah, okay. Thanks.
Is the AI that way even with clearly SC-type pretenders? Will it leave, say, a Gorgon at home researching? Is it dependent on whether it has magic or not?

its always been kind of random for me. usually your right, they will leave them at home. for example R'yleh will leave an awake Kraken at home. or a gorgon. i guess if it has NO magic they would probably use it. and a few time, (very few) they have used pretenders in combat

I dunno, I currently am trying to deal with the aforementioned awake kraken, and the AI is perfectly willing to use it in combat, though not w/out an army.

Hmm... I'm going to go ahead and start a game with an AI Sauromatia using Mother of Monsters and see how bad it shoots itself in the foot with her. I wonder if an AI unit poisoning its own troops triggers it casting poison ward.

I've seen the AI use the white bull pretender pretty effectively.

well the AI isn't know to use sc or thugs to anywhere near max potential so research might be better instead of it just killing a few troops and then dying.
Ofcourse with trample they cna't do much wrong at start fo game.
