Does anyone know if a map database exists? I mean like the scenario database you can download here:
http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showt...nario+database
Currently, with almost 700 maps, it can be a bit 'hit or miss' locating the type of map I'm looking for.
I started putting together a map database on an Excel spreadsheet, but only have about a third of the 262 standard maps logged. The database can be sorted by this criteria:
1. Map Number
2. Name
3. Nation
4. Theatre
5. Width
6. Height
7. Square KM (total map size)
8. Season (summer, winter, desert)
9. Map Balance (map best for: Assault, Advance, Meeting Engagement)
10. Notes (very brief description of map)
Are there other criteria I should include?
Ideally, we would have a standard database for WW2 maps, a standard database for MBT maps, and a third database for custom maps. A custom map database would obviously have to come with the maps.
Also, is anyone interesting in working on the standard WW2 maps project with me? Which would probably just mean entering the above criteria on my existing spreadsheet for say maps 100 to 150 or however many you can find time for.
But even if you don’t have the time to help out, please feel free to respond and give input on this thread.
Thanks,
Cross
