Intel ops in v1.49+TDM-ModPack
I am currently playing a solo game in v1.49 / TDM ModPack. I am in second place and have build a rather huge intelligence base. When conuducting Intel ops against the Rage, every Intel attempt gets countered. The Rage have about 30k Intel points. I have about 350k. Even considering that the AI bonus is high (times 5 I belief) the Intel should get through. So, does anyone understand what might be going on here?

First, the 5x bonus means they get 150k points. Add the defender bonus- 50% I think- on top of that, and you have 225k. Quite sizeable.
What ops are you using? Are you using all twelve slots? If you're just sending out, say, 12 ship bombs, you're only spending 60k points. Easily countered, especially if the Rage are doing nothing BUT counter-intel.

I am conducting 6 crew insurrections, target any ship, and the rest is used for counter intel. BTW. Same thing happened with the Earth Alliance, but they had a lot more Intel points.
Where comes the -50% bonus from?

6 crew insurections is still only 60k points, I think.
The mod, which is only 20%, came from settings.txt

Actually 6 Crew Insurrections should come out to 300k worth of intel expenditure, each project being worth 50k. The Rage may only show production of 30k, but what of their allies? Do they have any partnerships with Intel-rich empires. If that is the case, combined with all the AI bonuses and the fact that they might truly be focused on defense, you may have to look no further for your answer...

The Rage do not have an ally with much Intel points. They just have about 30K Intel points, a number of counterintel ops (9) and 3 offensive intel ops.
After conducting a few ops with one turn completion, I should have taken down their Intel stockpiles, which may have prevented the first few attacks. I am going to put three 100k ops in the queue, that definitely should overwhelm their counter intel capability. I will keep you posted.
If anyone has some more ideas, please let me know.

OK, after putting 7(!) crew insurrections in, intel finally got through. I really do not understand the calculations involved. I supposed it should be:
me 350k
Rage 30k x 5 = 150K
20% defender bonus = 180K.
So I should have got some Intel through. Is there someting I might have overlooked.
