Default panther model designation

I'm getting confused at the various model for the panther. Normally a bigger letter indicate later model. (ie panzer 4 j vs panzer 4 H)

However in the case of the panther, the panther D is actually the first production model with panther A arriving later and I'm having trouble keeping track of which model had what.

Why not wiki it for a simple potted history? (never trust Wiki completely though)

I guess wiki wouldn't mess up something as simple as the model production date. Thanks.

does the game take into account the shot trap on the lower turret mantle for the D and A?

Given the numbers we have to work with how could it ?

This is a brigade level game with 50 metre hexes and micro details like shot traps do not factor in

Don
even at brigade level we are still controlling/ordering individual tank. The game does model weak spot for tank to tank combat, I was wondering if some tank have more chances of suffering weak spot penalty.

No. The "weak spot" bonus is entirely random.
