Gifting systesm away!

If I gift away a system, will I gift away all the planets in the system too? what about the units and ships?

I do not believe so. I think you will only lose your claim on the system and someone else will claim it. I could be wrong though.

You will give away all the planets in the system that you own. If you are trying to give away a system to an AI, you may need to actually take over the AI and turn off the ministers for a turn. Otherwise, it may not accept a give, especially if you are at war with it.
