Production version Tiger I revision
Any plans in a future patch to add a storage bin to the rear of the Tiger I turret? I've only seen it without the bin in its development versions. Thanks!

A storage bin in a Tiger?
One has to wonder what significant improvement that would be,,more shells or what?

Re: Production version Tiger I revision
Actually the storage bin I referenced is external and is mounted on the rear of the turret. Early pre-production Tiger I tanks did not have them available though some were given the storage bin of the Pz Kpfw III until the production bin was available for attachment. I think the bins were provided not for ammunition storage directly but rather to free up the Tiger I interior for ammunition storage. I asked about the bins because as it stands now in SPWW2, all of the Tiger I tanks have the appearance of pre-production models including the "late" version of the Tiger I in the game.

So basically this is just a cosmetic issue with the units Icon graphic file.

Re: Production version Tiger I revision
Btw. I recall seeing photos of early Tiger I tanks with their storage bins attached to the side of the turret.

Re: Production version Tiger I revision
Way back when I grew up with the Airfix 1:72 model of the Tiger and that model does not have the bins at the back of the turret.
When I built the Tiger Icon I put the bins on but no matter how I changed them ( and I tried a number of ways and It's not like I don't know how to do it ), the result didn't look right to me BECAUSE I was used to Tiger 1's without rear turret bins and that's why the Icon for our Tiger 1 does not have the rear storage bins.
That said, I'll put it on the list to look into again

Re: Production version Tiger I revision
Just had to post a link to this image. It seems to be the same tank from a top view. Shows the side turret mounted storage bin better.

Re: Production version Tiger I revision
The Tiger I with the side-mounted storage bins is a first for me.
I recently finished a book, The Tiger Tanks by Peter Gudgin which included a large number of pre-production and production Tiger I photos and as stated in my original postings, they show "clean" turrets and rear-mounted storage bin Tiger I turrets respectively. It's true that it's only cosmetic and serves no practical function in the game but the dedication of the game creators to historical accuracy prompted me to write.

Re: Production version Tiger I revision
Never have seen the storage bin attached that way on a tiger, until rosilla provided that image.
I suspect it was rare and was done away with after it got blown off most times in combat as Tigers tended to attract alot of fire.
I prefer the way it is now,no bulkly looking protusions.

Re: Production version Tiger I revision
It looks like a Wehrmacht Centurion with the side storage bins. I think the Tiger photos in the game do show the rear storage bin in place though I'm not certain and will check. It's not a big deal, though.
