Same Mission Type
I'm playing a generated campaign, and the last three missions have been river crossings and every new battle is now a river crossing. I'm a little tired of river crossings. Exiting and restarting doesn't make any difference. Any ideas on how to get it to move on to something else?

Re: Same Mission Type
They should be rare as hen's teeth.
Go back to a save game a turn or so before the end (if you have one) and restart that and you should be lucky.
However - if that also generates a river crossing then there may be a bug of the flag being carried over and not cleared, once you have had such a battle. If so - that would be handy to know (and I'll want a copy of your save game for debugging once we get back into things).
If it is a bug with the river flag not being cleared then you'll need to go back to a save-game before the present game started - and exit any river crossing game if offered in future, till I fix the revealed buglet. If no save - then a campaign restart I'm afraid.

Re: Same Mission Type
Which nations are involved and what year ? The flag being carried over and not cleared could be a corrupt save file. It's rare but it happens but knowing which nations are involved and what year will allow a starting point to run a couple tests

Re: Same Mission Type
Countries - USA and Germany 1941; generated desert campaign.
Unfortunately, I don't have a recent enough save to go back to. Lesson learned there!
If you can tell me how, I'll gladly send you the saved game.

Re: Same Mission Type
What month was the battle set to?
Did you happen to load a custom map at any point ?
I've been through a 10 battle US vs German generated campaign set in 1941 and have been unable to recreate this or even get a river crossing ( we have ways to advance the battle to the end so I didn't play out 10 battles of a campaign today....)

Re: Same Mission Type
I hardly ever get a river crossings in a campaign, you say you get several in sequence, means somethings wrong on your end.
It maybe a major PITA,but try uninstall, reinstall hope that helps.

Re: Same Mission Type
Same problem here:
Germany vs CCCP, USA and UK. May '45 until December '46
Units: Kommandeur switched for Panther G Uhu, one (e) Stabskompanie with King Tigers and one 14-gun Jagdtiger company.
Happened after 3rd battle. AFAIK 1st was plains meeting engagement, 2nd plains city meeting engagement, the 3rd was river defence on plains (126)... and it continues on, and on, and on... My internet is ***** today so I cant upload the save... will try tomorrow tho.

Re: Same Mission Type
Hmm,I managed to fix it, by 1st editing the map so there was no river anymore, then took the RMG and got somehow a map without a river, and in the end the match after it was a normal plains advance (soviet delay)

Re: Same Mission Type
I haven't had the time to look into the code, but for now my advice is that if offered a river crossing type battle for the next fight in a long campaign, exit out of the process (without bothering to fix or rebuild etc - you get your first opportunity to exit at the buy support troops point of setting up the new battle IIRC) and go back to the last save and restart that. (I always save just before hitting 'end turn' so I have a point to go to if things blow up).
