It is April 15, 1940.
You are the commander of the Hallamshire Battalion, York and Lancaster Regiment. Your battalion belongs to the 146 Brigade, just landed near Namsos, Norway.
You are to undertake an offensive against the German forces now holding Trondheim, the old capital of Norway and the city where its kings are crowned.
Brigadier Phillips, the brigade commander takes you aside to ask your opinion on how to deploy the brigade. You are the battalion commander he has most confidence in.
Use the map below to advice the Brigadier on how to deploy the forces. Type or draw on the map where the battalions are to be deployed. As the player you will somewhat double as the brigade commander, the in game campaign will however focus on the Hallams Bn. In reality the Hallams were mostly in reserve during the Norway campaign, but you can of course put them in the forefront of the action, maybe change history a little...
The ground conditions are harsh with plenty of snow making off road movement difficult. Thick ice covers the eastern part of Beitsfjord making naval landings there impossible, although the ice will not last many more days. Trondheimfjord is ice free.
The enemy belongs to elements of the German 3. Gebirgs-Division and the 181. Infanterie-Division supported by both Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine units, some based near Trondheim.
