Force Morale
In WAW there is a feature called Force Morale, is the same feature in WW2?
The reason I ask is that in our current battle my friend and I beat each other up pretty badly and most of our units are either dead or routed. Neither of us is able to rally anybody so each side has only three or four units able to move. This is the way WAW behaved when force morale was broken.

Re: Force Morale
Have you not answered your own question? They behave that way because force morale is broken & also communication is now probably playing a factor.
Get the HQ unit early in the game for force morale to impact early in the game.
I once landed a glider right by the HQ & destroyed it by turn 3 which was a great start to that battle

Re: Force Morale
Yes, force morale is modelled. If the entire task force about 75% of units is destroyed or is routing/retreating. Dead HQ adds to that, so force is broken at a few points less.
Rally and retreat rolls become more difficult, off map assets are off the air more often, etc.

Re: Force Morale
Also notice that if one side is broken and holds no victory hexes, the game may end prematuraly (before the full number of turns is completed).
If you are playing a campaign game, this might not always be very desirable, since pursuing and finishing a broken enemy can bring a lot kills (and thus experience).
Just don't be too rash in your pursuit, for there might be still some brave individual enemy units hiding somewhere, ready to take a lucky shot at you.

Re: Force Morale
Followup question:
If a force morale break is due to a lot of routing/retreating units, when sufficient units rally, does the force morale break status get reset?

Off topic but a good feature of this game is routed units can on occasion decide enough is enough & rally mid turn when shot at.
