Soul Hunters
I am working on Soul Hunters race. The first draft of the ship set is in SEIV/race download forum. Please, give your comments. There are no bases, wp and troops yet

Re: Soul Hunters
I like the look of these ships. I think I may switch to these as my default for a while, once you've finished.
PS:
Are you going to fill out this shipset with the Neostandard images?
IMG: Neobuilder's view.
PPS:
You might want to reconsider the shield image, since the B5 mod's use of shield abilities is ...different. Rather than energy walls that have to be beaten dowm, only fancypants armor and grav tech can reduce the impact of weapons. Even so, every hit will do some hull damage.

Re: Soul Hunters
These are looking good. But, aren't Soul Hunter ships supposed to be a yellowish-greenish color?

Suicide Junkie:
"Are you going to fill out this shipset with the Neostandard images?"
Yes, I have few more models, for example the "battleship-0" in the zip file. I'll try to fill all ship size slots.
Imperator Feron:
"These are looking good. But, aren't Soul Hunter ships supposed to be a yellowish-greenish color?"
I was thinking about that gamma, but found it quite nauseating. I can make an alternative ship set if you like and let people decide which one will suit more.
I also wonder what racial characteristics should we assign for Sould Hunters in standard SEIV mode?
Psychic - the whole business of soul hunting sounds very psychic to me.
Religious - the race truly dedicated to saving souls of others. If this is not deeply religious, then what else?
Crystal - according to Bab5 tech.manual, soul hunters ships have crystaline mesh armor.
Organic - they live over thousand years and can breathe any atmosphere. Must be very good in organic technology.
Temporal - they can predict when person will die, even if it is in a freaky accident. Surely, they can build events predictors!
So, what advanced race trait should it be ?

Re: Soul Hunters
Yeah, I thought their color scheme was a little nausiating as well
I would say make them Religious. The crystaline doesn't really fit as many races have access to the Polycrystaline armor - that is just a progression of armor tech. Also, since there are so many new techs coming for the B5 mod, maybe designing a new racial trait might be just the thing? This way you could give them some of the temporal, some of the religious and some unique.
They are Race #83
Name := ShagToth Technology
Group := Racial Technology
Description := Technologies unique to the Shag'Toth.
Maximum Level := 2
Level Cost := 5000
Start Level := 1
Raise Level := 0
Racial Area := 83
Unique Area := 0
Can Be Removed := False
Number of Tech Req := 0
I had used their official name (Shag'Toth) instead of Soul Hunters when I had generated them out.
Right now I only have their weapon techs set up, though I don't know of any unique weapons for their species.
I am interested in trying to include some special facilities for each race as well - let me kmove this over to the B5 forum -

Actually, this is a good race to give some unique mix of abilities. If the B5 manual says they have crystalline mesh armor then give them something like that, with the shield recharge ability and all. But don't give them a shard cannon equivalent. Give them the Mental Flailer in a new name appropriate for B5. Give them the events predictor, too. Finally, give them something like the fate shrine to account for their ability to predict the future. An interesting mix that will give a new challenge with the same old abilities.
