Sound and Music
Dear Staff,
Does WinSPww2 play background music? If not, what is the Sound fx on or off for? I've just installed and patched to v.12. I have battle sounds, but no music. Installed on Win10 (64).
Thanks,
Mike

Re: Sound and Music
Nope, SPWW2 does not play background music. Only background sounds are battle noises.

Re: Sound and Music
Get a copy of Media Monkey. Load whatever music makes you happy. Start the game and you'll have both music and the game. Easy-peasy.

Re: Sound and Music
2 types of in game sound:
Battle sounds - background generic battle effects
Sound FX - specific sounds for each unit moving or firing
As said - windows can do several things at once (ish) - have your fav tunes playing in the background, lots of free and good music players out there (VLC Media player my favourite)

Re: Sound and Music
Seperate player is a far better option than in game music just turn off background battle sounds & use it.
Left click your PC volume control if need be and call up the sound mixer to set volumes for each program.

Re: Sound and Music
I don't like the battle sounds. It sounds like a recording of a different battle, being fought at another time and place, usually quieter or louder than the actual battle, never blending in with the noise that your units make. It would be better if it was at the same frequency or decibel level that your units make. Worst of all it repeats every few minutes. It could be worse though, at least you can turn it off. I wish you could adjust it to make it match the sounds that your units make. Sound must be like graphics, it must use a whole lot of memory, because all the game companies do the same thing. Never seen a computer game do any better.
