To Atrocities: Problems with your races/shipsets
when trying to creat a massive Star Trek Game, (using all of your ST races/shipsets, I get the following error from several of the races (not sure which ones, I will go test it individually.
Error reads:
could not find field "Percentage of fleets to use for defense" in record "Fleet Settings"
Could you please tell me how to fix this error? Thank you!
Sincerely,
MHSJROTCCADET

Re: To Atrocities: Problems with your races/shipsets
Find the same line in an existing race's fleet settings text file and copy and paste into all the ST race's files and save. This should alleviate the problem of the missing line of code.

Re: To Atrocities: Problems with your races/shipsets
could you please be a little more specific on what I need to do, for instance where does the line of code go?
Here are the races with the problem
Star Trek STNG
Star Trek TMP
Ferengi
Rogue Fleet
The Borg
The Cardassians
also it appears that several of the races don't use the correct Picture Set
The only one I can think of right now is the Cardassians, who use the Starwolf Fleet Pictures. Hope this helps you!

Re: To Atrocities: Problems with your races/shipsets
ok figured out the code by myself, and am no longer getting that error, however there is still the problem of mismatching pictures sets, course I can just go to the editor and manually select the picture set and save it.

Re: To Atrocities: Problems with your races/shipsets
This happened to me on Friday and I'm not at home so I'm trying to dredge this from memory:
Do a find for the line "Percentage of fleets to use for defense" in the Fleet_settings.txt file for a race that came with the game (do a search for this file in Windows Explorer). The line should be correct there (copy line). Find the corresponding paragraph in the corresponding file for the affected race and paste in the appropriate place.
As for the incorrect picture set, it may be that the original error causes the file to be read incorrectly. I'd delete the added civilization from the game and re-add it once the text error is resolved.
Also: make certain that the other text files that came with the mod are in their respective folders.
Hope this helps a little. My memory ain't what it use ta be, never was.

Re: To Atrocities: Problems with your races/shipsets
ok fixed the mismatched pictures, the only two races affected were the cardassians and the ferengi, so Hopefully (fingers crossed) everything works now, now if you will excuse me, I am off to go play a Star Trek Space Empires IV.

Here are step-by-step instructions for converting old AIs to Gold, for anyone else who needs them.

Re: To Atrocities: Problems with your races/shipsets
The problem has been corrected a few days ago. I have posted news about it at my site. Sorry about the error.
When I set up the new AI, I some how copied the old Fleet file instead of the new one. As far as the use of incorrect pictures, this too has happened to me. I don't know what exactly caused it, but once I fixed the Fleet Txt error and started a new game, all was fine, and is fine.
I have play tested the races for two days now, and have no problems. The races are very handsome, and I really enjoy playing the Dominion.
