Dose anyone know how to...
Does anyone know how to stack componants? Or if it's even possible, I was looking at this web-site with ship designs on it and it looked like he stacked Sheilds and Armour in the same slot.

Yes, you can. Sorta.
You have to mod the game to do it; just create a new component that combines the shield ability and the high damage resitance/armor ability.

Re: Dose anyone know how to...
Sounds like mine.
That was in the Pirates & Nomads mod, where "Hardened Mini-Shield Generators" exist.
Another thing you may notice is that all those images have been slightly doctored, in order to fit more stats, and to show all the components without scrollbars.
In SE4 classic, those would be replaced by shield generators plus an occasional shield regenerator.

In the designs window, there is a button off to the side that says "Condensed View". This collapses all like components together and puts a little number in the corner for how many components of that type are in the design.

Re: Dose anyone know how to...
The right-click view of the ship looks much cleaner, includes most of the stats, and has a much smaller footprint on the webpage.
Even the expanded view of the right-click window is much more compact that a condensed design view.
Also, there is only one ship on the page (the BlackHole) that is really abusive on components, and it was placed Last deliberately.
