using/installing shipsets

ok, i use the tdm mod...i have found several shipsets i would like to use in my games. I would **probably** use the other shipsets as my own race in whatever game i am playing. My question is though, how do i install the shipsets into a mod, like tdm????

Also, i think i already know this answer, but how do i take a shipset and make it AI playable for tdm????
