Borg AI location?
Forgive me if this is covered somewhere else. I am planning to set up a humans vs. AI game with friends, so we can all learn the game before going against one another in our second game.
I have heard that there is a Borg race that has special powers that make it very difficult to beat. Could some kind soul point me to where I can download this race?
Also, any suggestions for other races for the A.I. side? I know that Rage is very good, and has been adapted for SE IV gold. Any other really tough ones?
Finally, to make it a challenge, should I give the A.I.'s a boost, or are the best A.I.'s tough enough to be a challenge? There will be five players vs. 3-4 A.I.'s, and we are long time Stars! players (in fact, we once beat the people who wrote the Stars! rule book) and each of us has played at least one game against the A.I. Other than needing to learn the fine points of the rules, we are a pretty tough group.
Thank you!

Re: Borg AI location?
You can also set it up as a 5000 racial point game, but have your players only use 2000 or something.
Setting a medium or high AI bonus can help notch up the difficulty too.
You could also add multiple copies of the Rage to your game, using the "add existing player", then edit and set to AI control.
5 Humans vs Rage x10

Re: Borg AI location?
Unless some of your players are relatively inexperienced at SE IV, you might find equal numbers of humans vs. AIs to not be enough of a challenge. I'd recommend at least two AIs per human, maybe even three.
You also might want to have someone create a map to make sure the human players are well-distributed around the map. I have a PBW game that started with 8 humans vs. 8 AIs, in which with all but one human started on one half of the map, and all but two of the AIs started on the other half.

Re: Borg AI location?
You can download the Borg from my site, and if you want to use the God Emperor Borg AI, you can get it from here: http://www.shrapnelgames.com/cgi-bin...;f=50;t=000001
Look for the God Emperor Post about 6 or 7 down from the top.
Also, if your interested, you can try the AST mod v1.4 out. It has a lot of modified AI files for 8 regular Star Trek Races with special tech, including the borg, and 12 additional races with general tech. There are also 20 neutrals with their own agendas and one special building each.
