Re: New Patch For Dominions 3: The Awakening!

Yes, I noticed the bug only occurs when I'm coming back to the main map after selecting a commander, but going in to the commander view through the army setup isn't a workable long-term fix, I'm...

Re: New Patch For Dominions 3: The Awakening!

I'm having this same problem. Every 2-5 turns the GUI just disappears. I'm running a 1.7 gig pentium with windows XP. The problem only started with the new patch, and it's basically making the...

Re: A simple thank you

I'm not sure I want to get into a full-on OT thread on the subject of neoliberal trade policies, but basically with GATT (general agreement on trade and tariffs) and the WTO, if country A starts...

Re: Gauging interest in a Dominions Roguelike...

I'd be interested in helping, but I can only assist w/art, game balance and concept/development, as I can't code to save my life. I'd be happy to weigh in at a later stage, though.

Re: A simple thank you

Well, that worked better than I thought it would. Back on track and everything, which is good, because this is an interesting thread.

As to publicity and marketing, I know exactly the...

Re: A simple thank you

This has been an interesting thread for me (other than the flame war, which is actually the first really serious-seeming one that I've seen on a Shrapnel forum - usually people here are remarkably...

Re: Online D&D Gaming

On the contact sheet of the website, my email address is incorrect. It should be wickedmurph at yahoo dot com. Cheers, and I'll "see" everyone Tuesday.

Re: Online D&D Gaming

Yes, you get one feat at 1st level, and when you gain a level, you can pretty much take it in any class, given some limitations. You gain feats based on total level, not on individual class levels,...

Re: Online D&D Gaming

I don't know if there is still space, but I'd love to play (or help GM - I've been a storyteller for 15 years). 6 pm to 9 pm T/W/Th work for me most of the time, and I can confirm when it doesn't.

Re: OT: Canadian Federal Election

I'm also from BC and I agree with a lot of what Blackrose is saying. We're in a situation in this province specifically and this country in general where we vote for what we perceive is the lesser...

Re: Good game, but....the AI is very bad.

If they took out the light infantry, you'd post the same thing again on a different thread, but without the first problem.

I've been playing computer games for about 15 years, which is pretty much...

Re: Pretender assassin - balance?

I'm still tinkering with the idea of a Pretender assassin for the Malazan Empire mod I'm (slowly) working on. I can't see that an assassin pretender would be over-powerful, but a huge-sized assassin...

Re: How old are Dom2 players?

I seem to be right in the middle of the most common age Groups (I'm 28), and I didn't even remember a lot of these games until people here reminded me of them. The one I've been expecting to see...

Re: Any Way To

I first saw Dom2 in February's (I think) edition of PC Gamer. The demo is on the enclosed CD-rom. No download necessary.

Yes, welcome. And I say that in the same way that you would welcome someone to a crack house or opium den. You're glad to have the company, but a little saddened to see another person come through...

Re: Your Favorite Paths and Races

I've got to agree with Taqwus about Nature. I find the summoning, good items and healing to be great, and Vine Ogres make good shock troops, and are pretty cheap to summon for their value.

Re: BEGINNER

Early in the game, I don't find province defence to be that important. But when I first started playing Dom2, I was trying to garrison provinces, each with a little defensive army. This DOES NOT...

Re: What do you do with your spare time?

In between battles I tend to summon random creatures (whatever I have enough gems to get), forge magic items and then forget which commander I forged it for. Oh, and I check and see if the scouts...

Re: Malazan Mod concept

Well, in the books the Malazan armies do most of their best work when cut off from supplies, reinforcements or aid. One reason I thought that the whole Book of the Fallen would apply well to...

Re: Malazan Mod concept

I agree that they do look powerful on paper. That will somewhat be balanced by relatively high costs, both in gold and resources, and weak priests.

They should be tough, but they're also going to...

Re: game difficult to play

I had the same problem with the Demo, which I thought was weird, considering I have a 1.7gh processor and a 24 meg video card. But when I thought about it a bit I said "AHHH, nVidia!" and downloaded...

Re: Malazan Mod concept

I'm Canadian so I'm not totally sure, but stores like Coles or Barnes and Noble should have at least the most recent ones. The new book is slated for release in the next few months in trade...

Re: Castles and Citadels and stuff

I haven't found any reason to use anything else. As far as point cost/price and value is concerned, I don't really see a decent alternative, unless you really have sucky troops, then you want...

Re: Need ideas for new pretenders.

The big dwarf you found might work for a King under the Mountain or Dwarf King pretender, high earth magic, expensive extra magic, good combat, adds to productivity and maybe provides +5 gold income...
