8-23 covers the median 50%, even though 8 feels quite extreme to me. It would take a lot of tests to clean out coincidental randomness but I'm not enough of a statistician to...

I think I'm cooked enough. I'll defend the glorious wastelands of Agartha till the last but there's nothing to play for. Every turn brings new foes that I have no idea how to deal with ^^.

As a complete noob I was much more effective with land, money & troops than mages and early spells and I've not had a problem catching up with research. I'm still not sure how magic is important that...

I figured expansion takes absolute priority over early research. With bigger boundaries and more castles you can overtake early researchers before spells matter.

I'd never considered arouse hunger before.. real cheap and not so weak its pointless. I could have spammed it with my one turn of utterdark, that would have been awesome! I never considered income...

Yeah, I've only ever signed 3 NAPs and two of those were broken without notice (astral corruption didn't go down too well). The third is looking shaky ^^.
