Re: German LC

Elsewhere in 3rd Coy sector

Turn 3

EN has a good number of armour units massing in 3rd Coy sector. The vanguard is made up of mostly T-60s. My AT Rifle Section is capable of destroying them but...

Re: German LC

Turn 3

The first EN contact erupted near the main road in 2nd Coy's sector. The Pz IIIs have moved forward and covered by the MMGs. EN Armoured Cars (BA-10) are scouting just north of the road,...

Re: German LC

3rd Coy Sector

3rd Coy was set up in a very dispersed manner. Main thing was to try and hide most of the platoons under cover.

HMGs have been deployed very forward, and intended to slow down...

Re: German LC

2nd Coy Sector

2nd Coy has been set-up with an early skirmishing force while the rest are held in reserve.

The skirmishing force is a pair of Pz IIIs and my MMG Section. The main objective is...

Re: German LC

1st Coy sector

They've been set-up to ensure maximum firepower along the road. My MMGs are sited so that they can hose down any EN armoured units roaming down the road, while my PzJgrs will scout...

Re: German LC

A closer look at my Arty Park.

Blue Triangle is my Commander

Blue Stars are the 3.7cm AA guns

Blue Circles are the mortars themselves.

Re: German LC

Delay in August 1941.

44 Turns, and 74 Visibility. Map size is 80x120, so it's about 3km depth from the start-line.

The terrain here favours the attacker since there isn't much good cover, and...

German LC

Hello,

Time to play a German LC, 60 battles starting from Invasion of Poland.

Follow the trials and tribulations of a German Infantry Battalion.

But I will only upload battles beginning...

Re: Vehicle flamethrowers

I have no idea there was such a great difference bwt the differing technologies of flamethrowers.

I like them because they allow me to gameily fire a hex to obscure LOS. It's like a permanent...

Re: Experience and morale

To be honest, I'm quite sure Kiwikkiwik loves the game, otherwise he won't be spending so much effort working on these long posts for a forum that is usually quiet.

Re: Left Mouse Button issue

Are you sure you're not doing spotting via unit facing? The AI detects this and it will sometimes call up op-fire. Happens usually do very short ranges though.

Re: winSPWW2 version 9.0 - 14.0 Consolidation patch (2021)

How does #8 work?

Passengers will now report "CARRIED BY: "..... normally this is obvious. They are in the vehicle carrying them but occasionally legacy scenarios would have ghost / doppelganger...

Re: Bombardment-delay mechanics

Maybe what Anton is asking is to amend/ clarify the game guide. It may have been accurate previously, but the current artillery model behaves differently.

Talking about artillery, I used to like...

Re: How much "protection does a building offer"

I came across S. Building and W. Building. Straightforward enough, Stone and Wood.

I also came across A. Building. What does it mean? Is it stronger than S and W?

For facing lighter arty, does...

Re: Trudge for Turda: SPWW2 Operational Campaign Invitation

Is there anyway of participating as a spectator without playing? I can't commit to the game and I'm also on a whole different timezone. But I like the idea and would be interested to observe.

Re: effectiveness of infantry vs armor in wooded area?

Fire overrides the armour rating, no? It's a very handy tank killer, and the smoke helps in further masking terrain to pull back any exposed units.

Re: Proper Bombardment Execution.

Your unit that called up the bombardment screen acts as the FO as well. And only units with radio would be able to call up the bombardment screen.

FO should be best placed to observe the fires for...

Re: German Campaign using War Cab

Hey John,

Loved the defense battle. Was really surprised that the battle ended at T13. I can sense that you put in alot of effort to draw the maps so that it makes sense to the reader but I still...

Re: German Campaign using War Cab

The problem with knowing the visibility in advance is that we deploy our units with that visibility in mind.

Imagine we don't know the visibility beforehand and can't change it after deployment....

Re: German Campaign using War Cab

To be honest, I think the Timed Objectives is a good concept but we need to improve on it. I think anything more than 3 pts is too much.

I usually play with 3pts, rather than 6pts as you did. If...

Re: German Campaign using War Cab

Chimed in to see excellent progress. Maybe in the last turn AAR we should have a quick discussion if Group Centre was required. I kind of think they lag too far behind and don't really get to...

Can you also show your targets for bombardments? That'll be a nice Ops plan then.

Re: German Campaign using War Cab

Seems like I can follow this battle better. The earlier ones were too confusing.

Absolutely agree with sticking to movement along roads where possible. Just purely moving through the terrain is...

Re: German Campaign using War Cab

I'm not sure. Just personal anecdotal experience. But Pz4s seem to be better at reaction fire than StuGs. Does the game compute this? I had in a number of occasions, gotten the drop on the flank of a...

Re: German Campaign using War Cab

38 turns for Advance?

You'll definitely need to move along the roads so that you can reach the objectives in good time.

Once the roads are clear, it's going to be an infantry slog to clear...
