Re: SP and MP Poll

I play SP, and either bail or adopt projects after victory is obvious. Projects include SC builds and experimenting with spell combinations (last interesting one was Astral Corruption + Infernal...

Re: Single Player Rant

And I can still be regularly beaten by the AI on wrap around maps on the hardest difficulty, so luckily I'm bad enough that I can enjoy the game.

Edit - I like Fate's parallel game comment. I...

The Dingly Dell should definitely be included.

Re: Dom 9 or Dom 10?

Depends on your model. A gorgon can probably get by with 9, since it's part of a compound defense. A prince of death probably wants 10, and enough death magic to boost fear radius a bit as well. ...

Re: Is magic worth it?!?

I'll reiterate the poster who mentioned Abyssia.

Others:

MA Ermor has pretty amazing communions very early, able to boost multiple Thaumaturgs to Holy 4. This gives a lot of nice options -...

Re: Paths of Blood

Jazzepi - I don't know how new you are to blood, so don't take this the wrong way, but you are turning your taxes to 0 in provinces where you're hunting, right?

I find that roughly 6 points of...

Re: Summons to build a strategy around....

The EA Agartha's Rhuax Pact and... errr... whatever the other one is called. It's a garage sale all the way.

Re: Paths of Blood

And I forgot to mention Rangers for LA Ulm, arguably the deadliest ranged troops in the game, and decent melee troops to boot.

I think MA Abyssia is a nice introductory blood nation. Their...

Re: Best Unit in the Game... Any thoughts?

Pound for pound:

Gold - I'll second the "quality recruitable anywhere sacreds." In particular, Mictlan with F9/W9 and Lanka with E9/N9 can be absolutely devastating from year 1 through the...

Re: Paths of Blood

Haven't been here in quite a while.

LA Ulm mixes decent blood magic, freespawn thralls, freespawn wolves, and incredibly potent spies to shut down enemy economies. They aren't anywhere near the...

Re: Ermor LA Start

The master liche also has an additional misc magic item slot. It's a modest bonus, to be sure, but can save you a lot of points on the right build - if nothing else, it's notably cheaper to buy the...

Re: Guide to EA C\'tis

If you have the time and the experience, could you extrapolate this into LA C'tis? There's definitely some big differences (you lose a good bit of protection in comparison to other LA races, you...

Re: Kristoffer\'s encouragement thread

Rakshasas and Rakshasa Warriors are both Lankan summons.

DnD does indeed have the Rakshasa. It's natural form looks like a humanoid tiger. Stats below.

Re: Kristoffer\'s encouragement thread

Sobek.

I'm curious why you want cat people. As a visual, I suppose it's nice, but similarly potent nations already exist. Unless you want to go up against Ermor so you can stage Lion-O battles...

Re: Gift of Kurgi Bug

Which is how the Send Horror and Send Lesser Horror rituals work anyway. They also don't attack anyone in a fortress.

Re: Guide to EA Mictlan and bloodhunting

I would think Mictlan would be both a facehugger and a longterm threat - the triple bless Mictlan more of a pure facehugger, but the right dual bless (LA Mictlan with Fountain for F9S9 or W9S9) or 1...

Re: Kristoffer\'s encouragement thread

I'd like to see a blood nation who has taken Crossbreeding to a whole new level. I love the randomness mechanic that crossbreeding brings to certain blood nations as it is, but I'd like to see some...

Re: MA Pangaea-best starting troops?

Using Manikins and Mandragoras are probably not good in the "nice" sense of the word, either, but they get the job done. And protecting the forest is what it's all about.

Re: MA Pangaea-best starting troops?

Xietor - you can definitely do so, but Pangea still has it.

Frank - I often have trouble keeping up with these conversations since I'm not playing highly competitive MP games (and have no desire...

Re: MA Pangaea-best starting troops?

Right. Sorry, was thinking of EA Pangea there.

People seem to be going either turmoil/luck/sloth or order/production. Any reason people aren't pushing a turmoil/luck/production/growth scenario...

Re: LA Ermor - myth, legend, or overrated tripe?

In my most recent game, 4 Blade Winders + 10 generic priests has led me to quite a lot of battles vs. LA Ermor where I lose 0-5 regular troops and they lose 500+... and I'm not particularly clever,...

Re: LA Ermor - myth, legend, or overrated tripe?

Interesting. I had thought that Dreamlands killed wherever it was.

MA Ermor can also spawn undead armies that make LA Ermor's look weak, since it has the best gold recruitable reanimators in the...
