(Newbie) Galactic Combat 3 - Story Thread

Hi RD.
I'll continue to post in the NGC2 therad.
But I don't have much of a story plot left.
I'm mostly reacting to Roberts story there.
I'm beginning to start up a new plot there to keep it going but it's not a good plot, I'm more interested in reading about the what the Dravens are planning!!

Where this NGC3 story will lead I hav eno idea, hopefully this will be a gamedriven story and then I don't have to strain my imagination!

Heh. I only read the NGC2 story thread for the first time a little while ago. I can see some commonalities between my Alteri and the Weyrlings (after the One woke up again). But there are some very key differences.

My Posts so far are mostly introductory. The real story won't start until I meet some people.

Then it will all depend on how the game goes.

Well you know the Dravens are a pretty screwed up race, which usually gives plenty of fodder for story lines.

Captain Wedderburn whistled softly as he looked over the initial sensor reports for the new system that the Aphrodite had just warped to. The planet fourth from the sun appeared to have everything necessary for a prosperous new colony.

"Ensign, arrange a meeting with the leader of those landlubing colonists that we are so thanklessly shlepping around and tell them to prepare for thier new life."

"What colinists would those be, sir?"

"The ones we loaded back at our homeworld for ready colonization once we found a new planet *sub*-ensign"

"Uhm, sir, the cargo manifests list nothing but freeze dried Ramen noodles and Frago cola"

"What!? Let me see that." Captain Wederburns face rippled with rage as it was revealed that the ship indeed had no colonists on board.

"Ok, sub-ensin *peon*, set a course back for the homeworld and load up some colonists. We've got a mission to do! Grrr. Last time I enslist in any empires navy that has the word Chaos in its title. They didn't even remember to pack the scotch!"

DOH! Luckily I discovered my silly error after only one turn and not when I tried to colonize the planet...

The first Swedish ship the "Colony Scout Adam" was about to move out from the space dock.
-Set course to the nearest warp point at full speed.
-But captain....
-Yes, what is it?
-We have no engines, we can't move!
-WHAT!
-Well, the ship was as planned built without engines to speed up the construction time, but the ship yard forgot to fit them in Last month! We'll have to wait another month for the engines sir, and then there will be another ship that also needs engines fitted. So we won't be getting that large cargo hold as planned!
If we're lucky the new engines will be fitted and repaired within a month, if they don't repair the "Colony Scout Bertil" first of course!
-Arghhh!!!
