Mines question
Hi,
A question about mines : will they explode in chains until there is no incoming ships in the sector, or can a ship survive damaged with mines still floating around him?
Is it true the mines led first are swept first?

Re: Mines question
Like for the troops trick? Empty small mines first, then biggies Last. The problem is with 100 mines max for each sector, thats a lot of risk to have a lot of fake mines.
mmmh, does someone tried to lay warhead-less mines? I wonder what happen, do they still explode?
I remember now a Stars! trick which could be interesting : empty hulls as decoy. The problem with SE IV is that you have a big fee for any ship, because you must pay these survivals&controls systems, so I'm unsure if its worth it. And you have to prevent long range scan too. Still perhaps barebone DN would cost a fraction of a normal DN and still can act as a repellent.

Done that.
After they destroyed the first fake DN my empire crumbled, the rest ofcourse were no deterrant...
If possible build real ones and mothball instead, better and cheaper after a while as the mothballed ships costs nothing.

Re: Mines question
Which fraction of a real DN do they cost? Above 10% is not worthy IMO.
If you are so overwhelm that you can only build fake ships as a deterrent without the resources to build a real warfleet, then I agree it is not really worthy.

Re: Mines question
Oh, good point about the 100 mine limit.
I've made so many stupid Posts lately . . .
