Re: RIAA
Whew, thank God, Atrocities, that we are back on topic, that you are a cynical bastard, and that you don't hate me because I drive an SUV (is an 87 Ford Bronco II considered an SUV?) and talk on my cell phone (I do try to avoid it while driving.)
I have been reading quite a bit about the RIAA and their current tactics. Being an amateur guitarist and writer I can respect not wanting to see my works traded about the internet without my consent. Unfortunatley, the RIAA has neither the artists' or the consumers' best interest in mind. I recently had to reformat my HD and have yet to reinstall a P2P program. I'm thinking I will go a while and make a list of songs I haven't gotten yet, load a program, dl the songs, delete the program, burn the songs, and take the songs off my HD. I prolly won't be buying anymore music from anyone belonging to RIAA. Maybe we, on this forum, could set up a list of MP3s each of us has and do a little swapping of our own... oh wait, I hear someone knocking at my door and my firewall is detecting someone trying to hack my computer... Big Brother is Watching You...

Actually, under the patriot act, this can be bypassed by the police dept or any other law-enforcement group by simply citing it's for the National Interest.

Re: RIAA
Yes, very well put. "Ultimately, there's a confluence of interest between fans and creators--in getting the ******* suits out of the picture. ... In a digital world, what the [f*&$] do they contribute?"
As for the Patriot Act, it's an utter perVersion. The bastards responsible are a far worse enemy of freedom than any terrorist.
