remember, I said the three sided die had rounded ends. it was impossible to stand it on end. You are taking my extremely crude diagram to literally. the ends are not actually flat. If made right the sample would have a slightly beveled pyramid on each end. The dice I had was made of wood and all the edges were slightly rounded. moreso on the ends. Heck, it would probably take me about 15 mins to make one with a scrap of wood, a crosscut saw and a bit of sanding.

Cheers!

P.S. I took the 5 mins to make a .3ds model of exactly what I mean for the shape. If you would like it, just tell me where to send it.

Aha, I missed that the first time I read it. Sorry.

No, I wouldn't know what to do with a .3ds file anyway. I got it in my mind now though.

kinda weird, being indirectly responcible for a discussion of three-sided dice.

Convert to .x and make a Starfury ship, of course! The Dicean empire, with their d2 (coin) fighters, d3 frigates, d4 destroyers, d6 cruisers, d8 battlecruisers, d10 battleships, d12 dreadnoughts, and d20 starbases! Roll for initiative!

That is very much like what I had in mind David, only with three sided pyramids on each end. As you have it it's possible (though probably unlikely) the die could land on one end or the other. With points on the ends of the proper height you eliminate that possibility.

I don't remember anything like that from Risk though. The Version I had was all roman numerals for armies. I's, III's, V's, and X's.
