Re: Diplomatic Triggers
In all seriousness, sounds like you tripped the "Mega-Evil Empire" (MEE) trigger. Look in "Settings.txt"; there's a setting for MEE, (I think it's 170 for default). The setting is used as a percentage; when your score is (for example) 170% (or 1.7 times, or 70% higher than) the second place player's score, MEE kicks in. I think the setting is 250 for AI's, so an AI would have to have 2.5 times the second place player's score to become MEE.
There's been a lot of debate here about it; do a search on MEE or Mega-Evil Empire.
BTW - you can also turn this feature OFF at game setup...

Re: Diplomatic Triggers
The kooky, yes I said kooky, thing of it is that I only have three systems. In a huge galaxy you'd think this hardly qualifies me for the Mega Evil Empire title, sigh. I ddi research all colonization techs so I could absolutely fill up every planet. It is turn 253 and I have 3 systems containing 33 colonized planets and a population of 39.8B. You are right about the score though, my score is currently 868.7 while my nearest competitor, the Narn Regime (great job there) sports 511.1. I think my score received a huge boost when I converted all monoliths to monolith III's and built those 20 baseships... I can understand people banding against me to an extent, but as I am never the aggressor it would be nice if the game took that into consideration. There are BIG nice guys in the universe after all...

Re: Diplomatic Triggers
You guys were right... Mega Evil Empire... sigh. I edited all races anger files and changed the value from the default 50 to 100. Now the quadrants races are easing up on me a bit, which makes the game more interesting. Thanks for the information.

Re: Diplomatic Triggers
I maintain that it is and define it thus:
It is the adjective one applies to eccentric, peripheral or otherwise skewed or screwy people or phenomenon. Mildly pejorative, but often with an element of amusement or affection.

Re: Diplomatic Triggers
Definately a word. kook - An eccentric, zany person according to American Heritage. Kooky - adj.
Those two words describe just about everyone I work with!
