yes, i see your point, but, I, as a god would gain much more satisfaction knowing that the masses that once fought against me now worship me. It would make me feel stronger and less like a glorified king.
I think that if your dominion was strong enough then neighboring provinces should "meld" with your empire by choice if they were influenced by your power.
