In the same vein, I'd like to be able to save a system as a file (everything but warp points) and then specify it as the home system for a race (probably a new entry in whoever_AI_General.txt). You could put "none" in the specificaction for the race, but if you put a system file name then that race would always start in that system. When the game generates the new map and selects a system to place that race, it would substiture the contents of the specified system file for whatever was randomly generated for the system (except warp points, which would stay where randomly generated, maybe unless that puts one in the same sector as a planet). In the saved system file, you would be able to designatate a planet as homeworld as well.

Excellent idea. That way we could create home system for each race and place it in the race folder with the rest of the AI files and pictures. This is something that MM MUST hear.

Aaron should fix existing bugs before, though.

I would like the ability to predesignate numbers of existing ships, units bases, etc, and allow placement on the map.

the ability to develop senarios-where most worlds are colonized already and large empires can be established before game play.

How 'bout a change so that when you press the "arrange windows" button in 800x600 size screen, it will resize so the system objects window is not so small(just that top bar).
