Well there is hope. I'm not really satisfied with this map. It looks a little bit too sterile for my taste and has some other quirks.
I noticed that the water was a dithering of several different shades of blue. I replaced that with a single solid colour and saved the .tga with compression. Together with max compression using zip, I got it down to 7.3 MB (I actually got it down to 5.2 MB by compressing it as a bzip2-ed tar archieve.) If you want I can put it up on my homepage.
