Re: Can\'t turn off cheat prevention...
its in the next patch. But it might not do what you think. As far as I know it only applies to making gods in the maps file.

Apparently when they added it, they fixed it so that you CAN create super gods for the AIs. That works now. Im afraid thats all I wanted it for so I kindof stopped keeping track of the other fixes for it
But when they fix the cheating switch it will being a whole new definition to the cheat "God Mode"

Re: Can\'t turn off cheat prevention...
I think would be wonderful if one could set the "points to be spent" to other than 500 at game set up.
127 would be interesting as would 1000.
You could even include a faction-pick auction system, so less favored nations got a de facto bonus.
Would generally make pretender design less mechanical.

Well you can, but only with the AI's. So I take it you mean for the players. Interesting idea.
You could start a game now and say 127 points for gods. Enforcing might be late in the game when you actually got to see them. Hmmmm actually I do have a bit of C code laying around that "read" god files. Maybe someone could modify it to kick out a "total points" of a .2h file. When the cheat-switch is fixed you can create a game with 1000 limit.
It would be cool though if the devs could add a command-line switch to set the "has cheated" notice to different levels.

Also if you could set it to be human (10 point magic path) or immobile pretenders only. Just add some quirks to the process. "Oooh! A bootless Pretender game!"
Albeit - why can't the mage (and Allfather, and others) wear boots? I mean, I can sort of understand the freak lord - he loves the feel of his bare soles against the flesh and scales and fleas of his freak too much. But ... Most people riding a horse _do_ wear boots. That, or cute fuzzy carrion bunny slippers.
I suppose it's because some boots benefit the horse? Earth boots benefit the rider, but boots of speed, flying shoes, etc, give their benefit to what is nominally the steed.
Still....
