Well, it seems that violence is breaking out everywhere, and thus the game's namesake is fulfilled
I must admit, I did expect that the indies would mostly gone before chaos ensued...

It seems to me that high indy settings encourages players to go after provinces that have already been cleared by other opponents instead of risking troops taking new indies. A lower indy setting should help to reduce early wars and push players to kill all indies before engaging in a potentially debillitating early war.

Ulm wishes to announce we have repulsed the unprovoked attack of the Mictlan. Furthermore, the untiring devotion of our priests have called our beloved Carnifex back from the land of shadow. We call upon all nations to destroy the Mictlan before their insanity spreads.
P.S. I'd love to see your battle msew.

Re: MP Game - Pandemonium (noob/int game) - open
I will gladly post the battle a bit later in the game. I don't want to give away the various intel / hw locations / lands that people own this early in the game.
Suffice to say: I think the decision to attack pangaea's HW at the time I attacked was a correct decision. Sadly, the random number generator decided to roll VERY VERY VERY well for him. When his PD should have routed they didn't. And they continued to not rout for the entire battle.
And then 3 commanders retreat from battle and live. And my god retreats from battle and DIES?!!??! (no one I have talked to understands how that could have happened).
Just mind boggling.

Re: MP Game - Pandemonium (noob/int game) - open
certain damage effects still have to be calculated at the end of a battle, for instance your god may still have had poison damage to take, or someone may have cast bleed on him, or hit him w/ a baneblade, or somesuch.
if you actually got the message "has died retreating" while other commanders in the battle didn't, then that is very perplexing. perhaps save that trn file...

Re: MP Game - Pandemonium (noob/int game) - open
Msews god should have survived. He got 2 battle afflictions, but nothing serious, and he had a province to retreat to.
However, your army was not very strong. I assume the satyr's didn't rout because they killed more of your troops than they lost. Even if you had won that battle you would have had to fight my main army in the same turn, a battle you could not have won with so many casualties against the pd.
But it's just a game, so no need to get angry :-)

That army should have won against the PD with some casualities (some of the chaff dead). (which was to be replaced by 20 more chaff the next turn :-) )
The amount of chaff lost was out of control. And then the PD never routing was just mind boggling.

So, did odd_enuf stale Last night? I notice he hasn't taken his turn yet on this (though he's still got plenty of time) - anyone hear from him lately?
