I couldn't connect immediately too but what seems to help :
After failing 3 times in a row i didn't close the crashed game but just opened a new one while the old one was still connecting and i got in this way with the first try .

So make a shortcut like Thufir suggested and open it 2-3 times quickly at the same time this should be enough to get in with 1 of the 2-3 open dominions

Hey got in on the first try today, I guess having someone permanently connected to the game really is a bad thing.
