Toasting Undead - Part 3
Now, after we toasted and roasted entire truckloads worth of Ghost Riders, then Ermor moved onto their real attack. Check this out (and can you count how many Tartarians those crazy old Ermorians brought to the party?):
If there's anything more effective than Flame Eruption, it has to be Flame Storm:
And the impact:

Thanks! As you probably figured out by now, you caught me in mid-edit. The results are now fully posted, along with a few more screen shots.

Re: Toasting Undead - Part 3
Very spectacular battle! I guess the big difference was that Ermor relied on brute power while Abysia had massive spell support. I can't wait to see how this war turns out.

Re: Toasting Undead - Part 3
only thufir left for his turn
Yeah that battle was only mildly successful for me but all it really was just death income loss which I have an extreme surplus of. The only thing I really lost was the doom horror which I never had one before and really wasnt impressed with it besides its 10 map movement.
The reality is that this is going to be an extremely long war. I can going to use it for a lot of experimentation since I have the luxury to do so. I really do like Thufir's pheonix pyre/relief combo which works incredibly good.
My only complaint is that whoever wins the war wont win the game.

Toasting Undead - Part 4
Ahhhh, relief!
Now it took us a while to bring this into play (we may need to work on our scripts a bit), but here is a required component to any serious Fire Based Army - Fire Storm - just as it first takes effect:

Toasting Undead - Part 5
The beginning of the end (including a little "gift from heaven" - not exactly fire based, but even Arch Devils and Heliophagii need a little variety now and again):
Note the paralyzed Tartarian Monstrum in the lower center - he eventually sees the light (with a little help from the Tartarian Chains), and joins up with our side.
Here is a screen grab of what was going on in the Abysian rear for most of the battle (at least once the devils left to attack the Ermorian rear). Osirus (our Son of the Sun Pretender) and Pedoseion (Father Illearth) were primarily working over the Doom Horror, though another Tartarian Monstrum weighed in for Ermor, along with a bit of chaff. Eventually, Osirus gets the Doom Horror to see reason (again, with a bit of help with the Tartarian Chains), and the Doom Horror joins up with the Abysians. Here's the shot of the rear area:

Toasting Undead - Conclusion
Well, when it was all said and done, the mighty Abysian army defeated Ermor in all three phases. We lost about 30 devils, and sadly we lost two excellent mages (both our nature relief/charm casters, one quite well equipped). We gained a Doom Horror and a Tartarian Monstrum, although both will need GoR, if we want them as commanders. All losse occurred in the second phase. The storming of the castle was successful, with no losses on our part, and insignificant losses for Ermor.
Ermor lost their death gems for the GR castings (I'd guess 5-6 castings). In their second phase attack they lost their entire army, all comanders (including perhaps 15 Tartarians, mostly non-commanders). In the castle storming, the lost insignificant quantities of undead.
That's it for this report - stay tuned for another exciting battlefront play by play by Abysian Nation Public Broadcasting!
