There is a work-around. Give the weapon an ability that doesn't do anything for a component. Supply Generation, for example. Then write in the bonus to hit for the ability description. It will then appear in the component description window as an ability. This is what I put in the Ripper Beam.
Number of Abilities := 1
Ability 1 Type := Supply Generation
Ability 1 Descr := +20% bonus to hit.
Ability 1 Val 1 := 0
Ability 1 Val 2 := 0
This does still require editing each component, of course. There is no option in the game to display modifiers. It would be a good suggestion to throw on the heap with all the others.
